# How to insert footnotes


###  Footnotes are only available in LaTeX snippets at the moment


## To insert a footnote

1. Click `Insert -> LaTeX` in the toolbar
2. Insert your text, for example:
```David Foster Wallace would use footnotes extensively\footnote{Wallace used a vocabulary of \textbf{20,584} unique words to write the \textbf{577,608}-word \textit{Infinite Jest}.}```
3. Click outside of the LaTeX block and your footnote should appear.
